How do I sign up for a Meal Plan?

How does my Meal Plan work?
Your Meal Plan is all on your BEARcard! Depending on which plan you've chosen or been assigned, your Meal Plan will come with either Meal Swipes, Dining Dollars, or both! Meal Swipes can be used at Thurgood Marshall Dining Hall, our campus dining hall, and will expire at the end of the semester. Dining Dollars can be used at all on-campus dining locations includingThurgood Marshall Dining Hall, the C-Stores, the Student Center Food Court, and Concessions. Dining Dollars expire at the end of the semester. To add more Dining Dollars to your BEARcard, visit the BEARcard Center in Tyler Hall to put in your request!
Who is required to sign up for a Meal Plan?
Students residing in on-campus housing are required to sign up for a Meal Plan and will be automatically assigned the Silver Plan. Students residing in Thurgood Marshall Hall are required at the minimum to sign up for the Silver Plan. As a residential campus, our goal is for students to experience all that Morgan State has to offer and engage in socialization at the dining locations – an important part of the college experience! Dining together fosters community and having a Meal Plan makes eating convenient by saving time and offering an abundance of nutritious options.
What are Meal Swipes?
Meal Swipes are a type of fund that are used at our brand new all-you-care-to-eat dining hall, Thurgood Marshall Dining Hall.
What are Dining Dollars?
Dining Dollars are sales tax exempt funds that can be used at all Morgan State Dining locations includingThurgood Marshall Dining Hall, the C-Stores, the Student Center Food Court, and Concessions. These funds are conveniently located on your BEARcardand are reloadable in increments of $50 to students currently on a Meal Plan. Dining Dollars expire at the end of each semester.
What dining options are available for students with dietary needs?
Nutritional information for menu items, including common food allergens, is available on the Everyday app by Sodexo, as well as on our menu boards throughout Thurgood Marshall Dining Hall. We have food options that are lower in sodium, saturated fat, and calories.
For students observing Ramadan, we offer a takeout option in Thurgood Marshall Dining Hall for students to grab some food to enjoy for Iftar.
Morgan State offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian options at multiple dining locations. Thurgood Marshall Dining Hall has a dedicated vegan & plant-based station called Greene St. that offers vegan dishes such as made-to-order rice bowls, falafel, wraps and burritos. Other stations in the dining hall also offer vegan and vegetarian options, such as vegan black bean burgers at The Sizzle, Seasons salad bar that includes toppings such as tofu and sides like hummus, vegetarian pizzas at Pie 3.14, as well as various offerings at Simmerin’ Soups, Swirlin’ Smoothies, Guest Chef’s Corner, Fork & Knife and Hometown.
